Here are more photos from our driving tour in the north of Israel, which included the Galilee and the Golan Heights.

Mosaic in wealthy house at Sepphoris, from approximately the 2nd century

View across the Beit HaKerem valley in the upper Galilee.  Syria is visible in the extreme distance.

Israel’s ski area on Mt. Meron.  No snow this year; no skiing.  Besides, it’s cheaper and easier to fly to Italy to go skiing.

Snow covered mountains in the Golan Heights, part of Syria occupied by Israel after 1967.  Note former Syrian outpost, now used by Israel to keep an eye on Damascus, just visible on the peak.

Food for Jay in Israel.  Sign in Hebrew says it’s Kosher—which means hamburgers only, no cheeseburgers (can’t mix meat and milk)

Lake Kinneret or the Sea of Galilee—where Jesus walked on the water.  Today, mortals must kayak instead (note kayaker between little finger of land and boats)

Cardo or “mainstreet” of the Roman ruins at Beit She’an
